What is House Revolution?

House Revolution is an on-line estate agency. The first of it's kind. We have taken traditional estate agency, stripped it down to the bare bones and then rebuilt it on the internet. House Revolution is a completely modern alternative to traditional estate agency or private selling.

So, what do you do?

We give you much more control when you buy property and sell property. We work with and guide you through every step of the house selling process from house valuation, preparation, marketing, negotiation and completion. We open up the whole estate agency process and take you through it step by logical step. We also visit you and check all is good before the property is activity marketed on our partner sites. The frustration often experienced by customers who use traditional estate agents happens because you are expected to be hands off. This can leave you feeling helpless and not in control of what is, after all, one of life's largest transactions. We are also on a mission to improve the standards of service currently on offer so if you need us, we will be there with transparent logical advice and help.

What will I be doing ?

We firmly believe that most people are more than capable of being much more involved in the buying and selling of their property. Remember, you are the decision maker here. An estate agent will never make decisions for you. They should only present you with information and facts. Well, we do the same but we make sure those facts are timely, properly researched, and without spin. The house selling process is well documented and easy to understand, so don't worry, we work with you and guide you every step of the way. Your My Houserevolution account allows you to see all activity relating your house sale in REAL TIME. Amazing!

So will I never see you ?

Yes you will. A member of the House Revolution team always checks every valuation and property to make sure you are complying with both the property miss-description act and the estate agent act. Remember, House Revolution is all about choice so If you would like us to measure, photograph and write the description we will more that happily do so. There is no extra charge for this service

What equipment will I need if I choose do compile my own house details?

Only the basics:

  • A computer with access to the internet and a printer
  • A digital camera
  • A tape measure
  • A private land line or mobile telephone
  • Enough time to be able to show your home to potential buyers
  • A little time each day to check progress

So is this the end of the High Street estate agent?

No, we don't think so. House Revolution is an alternative and by no means are we knocking every traditional estate agent in the land. In the right circumstances they provide an essential service.

The advantage of an estate agent is his ability to add value.

The value he adds is down to you and your needs. It doesn’t have to mean money.

For example:

Let's say you have been relocated to London and you have a house to sell in Scotland, the real value an estate agent can add is his ability to meet and show the property to others. It's only the distance that’s giving you a problem.

Or the property may be unique or unusual. It may be a small-holding, have a commercial concern, or be structurally damaged in some way. In these cases a specialist agent would be best.

You don’t have any spare time in your hectic life? Ok, but you would be surprised how little additional time and effort this is going to take.

How long is your contract?

What contract? We don't ask you to sign a contract which will tie you in for the next 12 weeks, why would we? No other business works that way. We do ask you for your agreement to sell your home and that you will comply with the legal rules and regulations and that it. If you want to leave us, sad as we might be that's your choice.

What about solicitors?

Solicitors are essential in any property transaction. You have one and so does your buyer. Your solicitor protects your interests.

Remember, the estate agent IS NOT a solicitor. He may recommend one to you but it is down to you to decide on who you instruct, and when to do this.

Your estate agent may call your solicitor from time to time but the information he will get is nothing more that you would have already had ’directly’ from ‘your’ solicitor. (Estate agents call this 'sales chasing', but really it is to see if he’s going to get his money any time soon!)

If you don’t have a solicitor House Revolution will help you find one, but assuming you used one to buy your property in the first place most people use the same firm.

House Revolution will also show you how to notify your solicitor that you have found a buyer and other important information.

Tip: If you are thinking of selling your property in the near future then we would advise you to blow the dust of the paper-work you filed away when you purchased your property, and to politely telephone the firm of solicitors you used back then, and let them know you may well be using their services again in the near future.
