6 September 2007According to a recent survey for Halifax Estate Agents, 39% of house hunters say they plan to use the internet to find their next property. Last year, just 7% of home owners found their last house on the web. A Nielsen//NetRatings study indicates that web estate agents are increasingly managing to convert casual browsers to loyal customers; new customers will visit very few other property sites once they decide on a favorite.
Another study by Nielsen//NetRatings finds that in the US, the top 10 real estate agent and apartment sites collectively grew 54% from 8.2 million visitors in November 2004, to 12.6 million in April 2005, driven by today's hot real estate market. Fifteen percent of the active internet population visited a real estate agent or apartment site during April 2005 — a 26% leap from 17.1 million visitors just six months before. Clearly, it has never been more important for real estate agents to make their customers’ experience online as useful and positive as possible
